After some help from a friend and colleague to find a section of the yet to be completed Atlanta Beltline Trail, I struck out on Friday morning for a hike. I followed a set of unused train tracks through downtown Atlanta and it felt like I was a world away instead of being right in the middle of the city.
I have always been intrigued by urban exploration and although I have yet to climb down into any sewers or to the tops of abandoned buildings I felt pretty accomplished and was delighted with some of the surprises along the way…particularly when the strength of nature is so apparent.
