Honeybee Festival

Saturday, September 15, 2012

Fall has come to Atlanta and with the changing of the season the metro area celebrates with weekly festivals. It seems that there is at least one, if not multiple festivals each weekend starting at the end of August and running through the beginning of November. The Honeybee Festival is one of these festivals. Held each year at the Gwinnett Environmental & Heritage Center in Buford, Georgia the festival celebrates bee keepers and their craft.  The festival featured numerous family friendly activities including bee games and crafts, honey samples and numerous beekeepers were on site to answer questions. I photographed the festival for a Three of a Kind photo feature for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
