What an unexpected day I had in Augusta on Thursday. It has been years since I have been to the city and I really wasn’t expecting very much. I headed downtown to grab some lunch and check out the scene if you will. Broad St. is split wide reminiscent of Savannah. I found food that reminded me of The Vortex in Atlanta at Whiskey Bar (Kitchen). The adventure continued as I walked up the street to find Vintage Ooollee’s, a costume shop and vintage clothing store. Followed in short order by discovering (read into that as being given numerous recommendations to check it out) Craft & Vine. This is by far one of the jewels of the city. The food is delicious. The drinks are concocted with love and care by the bartenders. The atmosphere is awesome. The staff is amazing including the general manager who spent time talking with his guests. And to follow up that amazing experience getting to check out the Augusta canal and the Powder Works & Mills that lay on the other side. Augusta I must say you outdid yourself.
