Oakhurst has been a tight knit neighborhood for years. It seems that the residents like to come together and bring people into the fold by hosting festivals and competitions within their tree-shaded streets. This Sunday was no different as Oakhurst held their first PorchFest. The festival brought out over 100 musicians to perform throughout the day on front and back porches of houses spaced out within the neighborhood. Bands such as Weapons of Brass Destruction, Spackle, Book Club, Metroscene and more as well as single artists such as Sydney Rhame and David Leinweber all performed as their voices and music drifted through the streets of Oakhurst. A very cool idea that was executed well was just what the doctor ordered for a Sunday full of music!
